How many people in here became either atheist or agnostic by studying the bible?

I had an indepth study group made up of myself, my (formerly) fundie brother, and several of our friends. After extensive study of the texts, consideration of the messages, and comparison to known history all came to basically the same conclusion: its mythology at best. A group of religious fanatics, and one skeptic, studied the bible and christian religions in detail and ended up with most becoming either atheist or agnostic. How can the bible be the word of any god if it is so full of contradictions and flat out lies that it turns those who really study it away? How can a benevolent god be portrayed in his own book as a jealous, lying, murderous monster? Why would anyone want children to read a book containing such horrible stories of murder, , and perverse destruction? Don't bother quoting scriptures, because I know them. Don't bother asking for verses, if your too lazy to study yourself.
