Any son that Henry fathered would have been the heir since he was so desperate, legitimate or not. Henry spent years grooming his illegitimate son Henry Fitzroy to be his heir until he died when he was 17. I also wouldn't watch The Tudors for much historical fact either...but its still entertaining.
