I am taking a science and society cl (philosophy), studying Darwin and it got me to thinking. Can anyone...?
I know Darwin believed in evolution and incipient species, etc and it really got me to thinking: There must have been a time when humans had some form of tail because every now and then a baby is born with a tail. If there was some transitional species, and I know that we don't have fossils of every creature to ever exist, why don't we see the same "genetic throwbacks" to the transitional form? For example, why don't we ever see a short necked giraffe, a lizard with feathers, a bird with scales, etc? It seems to me that somewhere the genes will pop up again. If we never had tails, facial hair, etc then why do we get the occasional fluke?
